• Sporting Teams

There is a strong emphasis on fundamental movement skills, participation, enjoyment and
      good sporting attitudes at Oakville.

Kindergarten to Year 2 participate in a range of activities on Wednesday mornings to develop
their fundamental movement skills and fitness. Fitness sessions are also held three times a
      week.

Years 3 to 6 participate in fitness three times a week and primary school sport on Friday
      mornings.

They also are involved in a sport competition known as PSSA, Primary School Sporting
      Association.
Children involved in PSSA sport, require parental / carer permission to allow
them to travel to PSSA sport by bus and attend training sessions as organised by their
team coaches. Parents need to realise that involvement in such teams is a commitment to
participate in, and pay, for the duration of the competition.

Children will be excluded from PSSA sport if their behaviour reflects poorly upon Oakville
Public School, either at the sports venue, on the bus or at school. Primary children have
the opportunity to represent their school at PSSA Area, Regional and ultimately State
      level carnivals if selected.

School Sporting Carnivals and Sports Houses:

All children are allocated to a Sports House for sporting carnivals which include athletics,
cross-country and swimming. Children are encouraged to wear clothes showing their house
      colours. These are:
       BANKSIABORONIAWARATAH, and WATTLE.
