Oakville Public School has an established and successful extra curricular dance program that is part of the 'Oakville tradition'.

Each year in term 1, children from Years 1-6 are encouraged to audition for one of the dance groups. This year, over 70 children are involved in Junior, Senior and Boys dance troupe.
 
Performance opportunities for these children include the Hawkesbury Music/Dance Festival, the Hawkesbury Eisteddfod, the Sydney West Dance Festival at Castle Hill, local shopping centre performances as well as many in-school presentations.

The commitment and enthusiasm of these children is evident as they give up their lunch times to learn, practice and polish their routines choreographed by Mrs Lorenzo.

The style of dance is predominately jazz through which the children can explore fun, fresh, up-beat, energetic and expressive choreography that incorporates elements of levels, formations and transitions, not to mention fitness benefits as well! This year the boys will also spend some time experimenting with the style of hip-hop with both Mrs Lorenzo and Mrs Duncan.
