  • Our School

    The focus on quality education in a caring environment is highlighted in the school vision and mission featured below.

    At Oakville Public School, students will be at the centre of a community of learners dedicated to the pursuit of excellence.
    Working within a collaborative culture, students will develop a love of learning. They will acquire the skills and confidence and develop the values and attitudes necessary to realise their full potential as contributing members of society.

    Oakville School’s mission is to foster academic and social growth in a harmonious, caring environment.

    This year we have been focusing on manners both at school and at home.

    Below are our manners we have been focusing on:

    * Say ‘Please’ and ‘Thank You’. If you ask for something say, ‘May I ……., please.’

    * Be courteous! Speak one at a time, listen to others and be cooperative.

    * I
    f you didn’t hear someone, say, ‘Pardon’ or ‘I beg your pardon’.

    * Don’t interrupt. Wait for your turn to speak.

    * Raise your hand to speak and wait to be called on before speaking.

    * Use people’s names correctly.

    * Enter a room correctly. KNOCK – WAIT to be asked to come in. GO TO THE TEACHER and say, ‘Excuse me’ then deliver the message.

    * Be polite when talking to adults and other children.

    * Quietly wait in lines. Walk quietly and sensibly around the school.

    * Apologise if you touch or hurt someone.
